First Nations Media and the Politics of Listening

Featuring First Nations media producers Lorena Allam and Summer May Finlay. Allam and Finlay reflect on the politics of listening in their work, including at The Guardian, the ABC, #IHMayDay Indigenous Health MayDay and #JustJustice. Lorena speaks about her award-winning work for Guardian Australia’s Deaths Inside interactive database which tracks Indigenous deaths in custody. Summer May picks up the theme of listening responsibilities and the difficult work of listening to uncomfortable truths.
